The Tethys General Assembly took place from June 18 to 20, 2025, at Aix-Marseille University, bringing together 180 participants from 22 universities across 11 Euro-Mediterranean countries.
Six new renown universities joined the network, raising the total number of members to 87 institutions from 21 countries.
The opening roundtable highlighted the strategic role of Euro-Mediterranean alliances in fostering South-South cooperation.
A keynote lecture by Professor Joël Guiot emphasized the urgency of climate challenges in the Mediterranean Basin.
On June 19, the study day focused on sustainable Mediterranean cities featured three thematic roundtables and a project pavilion showcasing 50 international initiatives. These projects addressed a wide range of topics including inclusion, pedagogical innovation, environment, and digital transformation. The event confirmed the vitality of the Tethys network and its strong commitment to advancing Euro-Mediterranean scientific cooperation.
