Strengthening cooperation between Adelmalek Essaadi University of Tetouan (Morocco) and Aix-Marseille University

A cooperation agreement and a specific memorandum were signed on 12 July 2019 between Adelmalek Essaadi University of Tetouan (UAE) and Aix-Marseille University (AMU) in the presence of H.E. Mr. Saaid AMZAZI, Moroccan Minister of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research and H.E. Mrs Frédérique VIDAL, French Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation.

Aix-Marseille University was represented by Sylvie Daviet, Vice-President in charge of International Relations. This agreement will strengthen cooperation between the two institutions, particularly between the two cinema departments. Indeed, they are at the origin of an exchange of students of documentary film masters around a pedagogical and technical cooperation put into practice with the realization in mixed teams and the public diffusion of a documentary collection "crossed views" on cultures, history and society. In 2019, a first phase of experimentation of cooperation was carried out with a first phase#1 "Tetouan welcomes Marseille" from 9 to 21 June 2019 and its reciprocal phase#2 "Marseille welcomes Tetouan" will take place from 11 to 22 September 2019.

The relations between the two universities have existed for fifteen years within the framework of bilateral agreements, the Téthys Network led by Aix-Marseille University and European projects (Tempus, Erasmus +...).
More broadly, AMU is developing strong cooperation with the Mediterranean region, which is reflected in numerous partnership agreements and the implementation of bilateral and multilateral structuring projects. The university is a founding member of the Euro-Mediterranean consortium Téthys, which today brings together more than sixty universities from around the Mediterranean.
