The Téthys network, represented by Camille de Garidel Thoron, took part in the seminar organized by IEMED, in collaboration with several university masters.
The event was held in Barcelona from February 19 to 20, 2024. Topics covered included higher education, migration, artificial intelligence, gender perspectives, historical narratives and diplomatic relations. The first day began with welcome addresses, followed by discussions on Euro-Mediterranean cooperation in higher education. A prize-giving ceremony rewarded the best master's theses. The day concluded with a discussion of research trends in the Mediterranean, emphasizing the importance of multilateral collaboration and innovation.
The second day, devoted to future challenges and prospects in the Mediterranean, was organized around sessions on various Mediterranean themes such as the political participation of immigrants, sovereign wealth funds in the region, and the ethical challenges of artificial intelligence. Workshops also addressed the themes of gender, slavery, sustainability and historical narratives, offering diverse perspectives on Mediterranean dynamics.
The seminar was an opportunity to emphasize the importance of regional cooperation and diplomatic exchanges in promoting stability and progress in the Mediterranean.
