Philosophy and objectivesThe

Capacity Building project "European project design and management In the South MediTerranean region" is a three-year joint project of the TETHYS Consortium of Euro-Mediterranean Universities and Aix-Marseille Université.

The overall aim of the project is to enable Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the southern Mediterranean partner countries to build sustainable international partnerships and maximize their internationalization efforts. As such, it will develop a comprehensive training program for 24 participants from 8 selected HEIs in the partner countries, with a total of 8 train-the-trainer sessions and 8 practical internships to be held at European universities in 2017.

These measures will equip HEI staff in the partner countries with the skills needed to set up and manage project set-up and management units, and to organize training sessions internal to their HEIs. These training sessions will be made available as Open Online Training (OOTT) accessible via the project website for HEI staff in the region. The selected HEIs in the partner countries will set up a regional EuNIT network to promote the exchange of good practice and the use of FLOTs, and will also offer training sessions in European project set-up and management for the staff of other HEIs in the region.

The project aims to increase the participation of South Mediterranean HEIs in European partnerships and initiatives.
