Strengthening cooperation between the University of Alexandria and Aix-Marseille University

A framework cooperation agreement was signed on 17 June 2019 between the University of Alexandria and Aix-Marseille University (AMU) during the visit of a delegation to Egypt led by Renaud Muselier, President of the Région Sud. Aix-Marseille University was represented by Michel Dolinski, International Relations Project Officer.

This agreement provides a framework for cooperation between the two universities in the field of training and research, which will take the form of exchanges of students and lecturers. An implementation agreement involving the plastic arts sector of AMU and the Faculty of Fine Arts of Alexandria will soon be signed.

The relations between the two universities have existed for almost twenty years since the University of Alexandria is a founding member of the Tethys Network supported by Aix-Marseille University and that the Faculties of Medicine have in the past worked together within the framework of a Euro-Mediterranean "Health and Culture" programme.

More broadly, AMU is developing strong cooperation with the Mediterranean, which is reflected in numerous partnership agreements and the implementation of bilateral and multilateral structuring projects. The university is a founding member of the Euro-Mediterranean consortium Téthys, which today brings together more than sixty universities from around the Mediterranean.
