EuNIT Project – 1st Research training session carried-out by Pôle Téthys, DRI, Aix-Marseille University

Six selected future trainers, three from Princess Sumaya University for Technology (Jordan) and three from Misurata University (Libya), attended EuNIT’s first research training session in Marseille, carried out by the Pôle Téthys, DRI, Aix-Marseille University.

Over the course of three days (16-18 October), the six future trainers were able to learn about the European programme Horizon2020.

While the first part of the training provided the H2020 theoretical framework, the second part enabled the Jordanian and Libyan partners to put their newly gained knowledge into practice.

They were given concrete cases such as answering a Marie Sklodowsa-Curie Action call, where they learned how to respond to a call, come up with a viable project idea, build a consortium and use the different necessary project management tools and strategies.

This training session was the opportunity for them to expand their knowledge regarding different European programmes and how their countries can participate in European-funded research-based projects. The future trainers are now fully equipped to transfer their new competences to their colleagues in their home institutions, which in turn will be contributing to increasing their opportunities of international cooperation.

The session was recorded and will be a part of the Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC), which will be available on the project website in the New Year.
